Teaching

My teaching activities are focused on computer engineering and on training students to conduct scientific research. In the field of computer engineering I have taught courses on pervasive (or ubiquitous) computing, digital signal processing, neural networks, and digital systems.

I have also been active in training students to conduct research (and development), mentoring students both in the lab and in the classroom. Since joining UNH ECE in 1999 I have mentored over 20 graduate students, as well as tens of undergraduate students. In 2009 I also initiated the department’s first course that systematically introduces graduate students to scientific research (ECE 900 Graduate Seminar). This course has now transformed to an asynchronous online course that spans two semesters (R&D from Inception to Communication I and II).
